Walasse Ting I Love Flowers All My Life

Introduction
Alisan Fine Arts is proud to present a major show of world-renowned Chinese New York-based artist Walasse Ting (1928 – 2010) at Hong Kong Arts Centre, the Pao Galleries 5/F, from 16 to 22 November 2010. The last time Ting held a solo exhibition at Hong Kong Arts Centre was in 1993, 17 years ago.
This upcoming exhibition will consist of 35 pieces of works in Chinese ink & acrylic on paper and Chines ink on paper from the 1980s, 1990s to 2001, providing an overview of Ting’s famous subjects: alluring ladies, bright pink flowers, yellow birds, colourful fish, cats, gorses, and florescent green landscape which reflect his joy of life, love and beauty.
An opening ceremony will be held on 16 November 2010, 6-7:30pm. Important guests include Walasse Ting’s daughter and son, Ms Mia Ting and Mr Jesse Ting who are coming all the way from New York to attend the opening of our exhibition. Other guests include Mrs Cissy Pao Watari, BBS (Chairman, Board of Governors, Hong Kong Arts Centre) and the director of Alisan Fine Arts, Mrs Alice King. Mrs Watari befriended Walasse Ting during her stay in New York as she is also a painter. Following this exhibition at the Hong Kong Arts Centre, the paintings will be shown at Alisan Fine Arts until 31 December 2010. During this time, a retrospective will also be held at the Taipei Fine Art Museum in Taiwan from 27 November 2010.
