Chao Chung-hsiang:His Singular Legacy

Introduction
To usher in the new millennium, Alisan Fine Arts is staging an exhibition of this renowned Chinese artist who lived in New York from the mid-1950's through the 1980's. This exhibition of 80 to 10 paintings was the inaugural exhibit for the Zhejiang Westlake Art Museum(part of the Zhejiang Provincial Museum). The new building is dedicated to Western modern art. This is the fifth major exhibition the gallery has held for Chao since 1985, and in conjunction with the exhibition the gallery has held for Chao since 1985, and in conjunction with the exhibition the gallery has published their third catalogue: Chao Chung Hsiang, Volume III.

With the publication of Chao's third major catalogue,(the first one was published in 1992, the second in 1997) we now have a comprehensive over of the artist's entire works. The book consists of two articles written by art historians Chuang Shen and Julia Andrews and one by artist Lu Fusheng. The catalogue with 47 colour plates will be available for sale during the exhibition.
