Kum Chi-keung, well known for using sculptural installations in the shape of bird cages to explore social, cultural and environmental issues. He has participated in numerous important exhibitions and biennale in the United States, Germany, Australia, Korea, Taiwan, and Hong Kong. They include: Inside Out: New Chinese Art, a travelling exhibition, Asia Society New York, Washington, San Francisco, Seattle, USA; Monterrey, Mexico; Canberra, Australia; Hong Kong, 1998; 11th Biennale of Sydney International Contemporary Art Exhibition, Australia, 1998; The New Face of Hong Kong, House of World Cultures, Berlin, 1998; 9th Seoul Fringe Festival, Korea, 2006; Made in Hong Kong, Hong Kong Museum of Art, 2007-08; Hong Kong Eye, Saatchi Gallery, London, 2012; China8, NRW-Forum, Dusseldorf;  Osthaus Museum, Hagen, Germany, 2015; Art Stage, Singapore, 2015; Hong Kong Sculpture Biennial, Hong Kong Covention & EXhibition Centre, 2016; Classic Remix: The Hong Kong Viewpoint, Hong Kong Museum of Art, 2019. Kum also held solo Exhibition at Hong Kong International Art Fair in 2012. His Big Bird sculpture is currently on display at Hong Kong International Airport.

Kum received the Urban Council Fine Arts Award in 1996, "Fellowship for Artistic Development" granted by the Hong Kong Arts Development Council in 1999, and “Persons with Outstanding Contributions to the Development of Arts and Culture” awarded by Secretary for Home Affairs, HKSAR in 2014. His works are collected by Hong Kong Museum of Art, Hong Kong Heritage Museum, Opposite House in Beijing, MGM in Macau, The East in Hong Kong, K11 Art Mall in Hong Kong & Guangzhou, Sotheby's, Christie's, Bank of China, Deutsche Bank, Louis Vuitton, and Christian Dior.
