KKD

KKD is an artist duo comprised of Vancouver-based Lam Tung Pang and Hong Kong-based Lambert Law. Growing up with trauma in the post-human period, KKD creates “handicrafts with mistakes” to ensure life is not too boring—and yet not too perfect—in the age of A.I. In 2025, Post-Natural Oasis at Alisan Fine Arts New York marked the gallery's first collaboration with KKD.

Lam Tung Pang is a Vancouver and Hong Kong based mixed-media artist primarily known for his large-scale paintings and drawings on plywood. A founding member of the Fotanian artist collective, which includes his contemporaries Chow ChunFai and Wilson Shieh, Lam’s work addresses the challenges of surviving as a creative force within a commerce-driven Asian metropolis. Using mediums both traditional (oil, acrylic, charcoal, & pencil) and non-traditional (nails, sand, plywood, & video), Lam explores unconventional relationships between objects and materials. The plywood painting in this exhibition, similar to the piece showcased at Art Basel Hong Kong 2018, blends styles of East and West and, through the rawness of the “dead” material, comments viscerally upon human destruction of the natural world.

Lam has received several prestigious awards, including the Asian Cultural Council Fellowship in Visual Arts in 2012, the Best Artist Award from the Hong Kong Arts Development Awards in 2013, the Hong Kong Contemporary Art Biennial Award in 2009, and the Sovereign Asian Art Prize in 2006. His significant solo exhibitions have been held around the world, including Asian Art Museum of San Francisco; Chinese Culture Center, San Francisco, USA; Chinese Arts Centre, Manchester, UK; Echigo-Tsumari Art Triennale, Japan; Chi K11 Art Space; and Espace Louis Vuitton, Hong Kong. He has also exhibited in group shows worldwide, including Tate Modern, London, 2010; Museum of Contemporary Art, Shanghai, 2010; and Royal College of Art, London, 2005. His work is collected by many museums worldwide including M+ Museum, Hong Kong; Burger Collection, Hong Kong; K11 Art Foundation, China; LACMA, Los Angeles, USA; and Deutsche Bank, Frankfurt, Germany.

Lambert Law, also known as Michael Andrew Law, is a Hong Kong painter who combines both classical and contemporary techniques, traditional and unconventional media in his work. Law studied painting at the Central Academy of Fine Arts in Beijing and with New York classical painter Dan Anderson. In 2022, his notable series Art History Dialogues featured at the Jao Tsung-I Academy Museum in Hong Kong, showcasing his unique approach to reinterpreting art history.
