Li Tingting graduated from Shanxi Normal University's Department of Fine Arts in 2004 and obtained a bachelor's degree. In 2007, she received a master's degree from the Xu Beihong School of Arts at Renmin University of China. In 2025, she obtained Ph.D. in Philosophy from Renmin University of China. She mainly engages in ink painting and is a member of the Chinese Artists Association, residing and working in Beijing and Shenzhen.
In 2003, she switched to a more free-form style after studying with the German diaspora artist Huang Hua. In 2005, she won the special award at the Korean "New Style" Art Grand Exhibition. In 2007, she made a name for herself by winning the gold award at the Contemporary Art School Students Nomination Exhibition.
Li has held solo and group exhibitions at art institutions both domestically and internationally. Recent solo exhibitions include: A River Mirrors the Misty Sunlight – Li Tingting Solo Exhibition at Musée de l'Université Franco-Chinoise, Lyon, France (2019); Time: New Works by Li Tingting at Shanghai Liu Haisu Art Museum; and Objects of the Blue Heart: Li Tingting's First Solo Exhibition in Taiwan, Taipei (2018). Recent group exhibitions include Beijing Youth Art Exhibition at Beijing Dongyi Art Museum (2025); Art 8 Young Artists Group Exhibition at National Art Museum of China, Beijing (2024); Ink Meaning: Contemporary Ink Art at San Francisco Chinese Culture Centre (2019); and Half the Sky: A Dialogue with Chinese Women Artists at Red Gate Gallery (2016). She also participated in the 3rd Chengdu Biennale and Strasbourg Sino-French Art Exchange Exhibition in 2011.
Her works have been included in notable collections worldwide, such as White Rabbit Gallery, Australia; Mountain Art Foundation, Taiwan; Today Art Museum, Beijing; Guerlain Group, France; and Origo Association, Switzerland. Key publications featuring her work include Traveling Beyond Matter – Li Tingting's Art Collection (2020) and Objects of the Blue Heart (2018).
