Justin Lim is a multidisciplinary artist based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. He completed his postgraduate studies in 2006 with a Master of Art (Fine Art) from The Open University UK, conducted at LASALLE College of the Arts in Singapore, after receiving his BA (Hons) in Fine Art with a major in painting. His work has been exhibited widely across Southeast Asia and internationally.

Lim was the recipient of the Malaysia-Australia Visual Artist Residency at Rimbun Dahan, Malaysia (2008). He has since participated in artist residencies at the Vermont Studio Center, USA (2011), as an Asian Artist Fellow/Freeman Fellow; Red Gate Gallery, Beijing (2013), through the Khazanah Nasional Artist Residency; the Tasmanian College of the Arts, University of Tasmania, Australia (2016), as an International Artist-in-Residence; and Kates-Ferri Projects, New York (2025).

Selected group exhibitions include Asian Art Biennale: Viewpoints & Viewing Points at the National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts (2009); Modern Love at Earl Lu Gallery / Institute of Contemporary Art, Singapore (2015); Asia Young 36 / Asia Contemporary, a survey of contemporary Asian art practices, at Jeonbuk Museum of Art, Jeonju, South Korea (2016); and Contemporary Chaos, curated by Demetrio Paparoni, at Vestfossen Kunstlaboratorium, Norway (2018).
