Wei Qingji was born in Qingdao, Shandong, China in 1971. In 1995, he graduated from Chinese Art Department, Nankai University, Bachelor of Arts. In 2003, he graduated from Mural Department of the Central Academy of Fine Arts, Beijing, Postgraduate. In 2006, he received Dr. Joseph K.W. Li Arts Fellowship, Asian Cultural Council, Hong Kong. Finally, in 2008, he graduated from the Wuhan University of Technology, College of Art and Design, Master of Arts. He was an Associate Professor in the College of Fine Arts, South China Normal University, Guangzhou, China, and currently MA Programme Professor at the same university.
Wei Qingji's works are in the collections of Mantova Young Museum, Italy; Daniel and Florence Guerlain Contemporary Art Foundation, France; NUS Museums, Singapore; Guangdong Museum of Art, Guangzhou, China; Hong Kong Museum of Art; M+, Hong Kong.
