Alisan Fine Arts New York is proud to present Pixy Liao and Ren Light Pan: Portraits, a duo exhibition that brings together two contemporary artists exploring self-portraiture as a medium of storytelling, identity, and self-discovery.
From the Renaissance to the present day, self-portraiture has long been a practice of both self-documentation and self-invention. In an era defined by selfies and curated digital identities, Portraits revisits this genre with urgency and nuance. Liao and Pan approach the act of portraying the self in radically different ways, yet share a commitment to narrative — each constructs a visual language that reveals, questions, and reclaims facets of personal and collective identity.
